Blue Medical — Orthopedic Implant & Surgical Instrument 3D Renders

“Blue Medical” is a set of photorealistic 3D renders of orthopedic implants and surgical instruments created for the product catalog of a Swiss manufacturer of trauma implants and bone-fixation instruments. The work covers bone plates and screws, the instrument set used to implant them, an “implant on bone” scene showing how a plate is fixed with screws, and an extreme close-up of the material used on the brochure cover.

The catalog concept, layout and the infographic system for the instruments were designed by Benjamin Carrieri of bendesign.at. Marjoram Studio was responsible for the 3D renders of all implants and instruments.

The project shows how medical device visualization handles what product photography struggles with: reflective polished metal, parts only a few millimetres across, and dozens of variants that have to look perfectly consistent throughout the catalog.
